Wine, let’s tweet about it
We’ve been a fan of WineTwits - a Twitter-powered community for wine consumers, retailers, vineyards and experts – for some time.
WineTwits serves up insider info, deals & special offers, and their virtual tastings are a uniquely fun way to taste with other wine tweeters.
A WineTwits’ virtual tasting
While there are a few variances, a WineTwits virtual tasting goes something like this…
A box of wine arrives at your door a few days before the tasting. On the day of the tasting, you plan out a menu to accompany the wines and preferably invite some friends over to share in the experience.
At the scheduled time, the tastings begins, with wine tweeters sharing their thoughts on each wine, using a specific hashtag for that tasting.
The hashtag enables you to follow along with the Twitter tasting notes as each wine is sampled.
#WITS2012 – A National Virtual Tasting Event by WineTwits
On Tuesday, July 10th we joined WineTwits and four featured wine partners as we tasted & tweeted along with fellow wine tweeters and got the inside scoop on the brands and vintages from the winemakers.
The wines were tasted in 15 minute intervals & it was a BIG tasting – #WITS2012 trended the entire hour.
Here were some of our favorite tweets for each wine.
